Effective Psychotherapeutic Services

Just Best ForOUTPATIENT

At GMH we know clients get well sooner – and stay well longer – when they receive treatment tailored to their specific needs, that is responsive to their symptoms and supports their overall quality of life and well-being.

That’s why we take a holistic approach to getting clients into a life of long-term, meaningful recovery. We use a combination of innovative treatment with tried-and-true evidence-based clinical therapies along with a progression of care. All of this is delivered through the Shoutout™ app, which uses Zoom for appointments, meetings, and more.

With our comprehensive services and addiction treatment programs, GMH equips our clients with the tools needed to establish major lifestyle changes necessary to maintain a life free from drugs or alcohol. Each program includes a comprehensive variety of specialized services for addiction treatment as well as co-occurring disorders, such as intensive 12 Step programming and a rich and complete family therapy program that allows clients and their families to heal together.

Feel Saferefreshed

Individualized care is delivered by the industry’s leading medical and recovery experts in facilities and via teletherapy settings designed to make clients and their loved ones feel safe, comfortable and confident about their future in recovery.

Individual Therapy
SESSIONS

Meet with your personal therapist via Zoom through the Shoutout™ app. Simply open the app, see your upcoming schedule for the day, and click Join.  Depending on the GMH facility, you may be able to meet with your therapist in-person on an as-needed basis. One-on-one therapy helps explore personal factors impacting your recovery. It also provides the opportunity to explore how the skills learned in group can be applied specifically to your life and to overcome barriers to change.

Group Sessions
Therapy

Group sessions allow you and your peers the opportunity to communicate, share and process thoughts, behaviors and experiences in a trusted and safe environment. This is a primary setting in which many recovery skills are taught. You’ll build positive connections with peers and the wider recovery community. These meetings are conducted via Zoom through the Shoutout™ app.

Therapy Sessions
With family

We strongly encourage families to participate in the treatment process as we know it significantly strengthens the foundation of recovery and helps to increase the likelihood of a long-term, fulfilling life in recovery. Our comprehensive Family Program is designed to help families heal and recover—together.

Our virtual program helps families learn how to connect to their loved ones in a positive way and develop healthy communication and coping strategies so that everyone has support during the recovery process. Your family therapy sessions will also be conducted via Zoom through the Shoutout™ app.

Mind PerfectionMEDICATION

Addiction is a disease that impacts the thinking, decisioning-making and emotional centers of the brain. For some individuals, medication can be an important tool in managing symptoms and maintaining sobriety. This may include medications to address mental health disorders as well as medications used to treat addiction, known as  Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Medication in combination with group and individual counseling sessions, is known to be one of the most effective ways to treat and manage addiction. While it is not for everyone, it is essential to the recovery for some. You can also request certain types of medication to be prescribed or refilled through the Shoutout™ app.

12 StepINVOLVEMENT

Recovery is not something that happens alone. It is best done with the support of a community of others who have fought the same disease and are there to support others on their path to doing the same. In combination with outpatient treatment services, patients are educated about and encouraged to attend a 12step fellowship such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA),Narcotics Anonymous (NA), or other peer-based fellowship.

Patients are supported in finding a sponsor and personally working through the 12 Steps. GMH believes that joining a 12-step program substantially increases a person’s likelihood of long-term success in recovery, freedom from active addiction and/or alcoholism, and ability to help others achieve sobriety and cultivate a sober support network.

Our Alumni Association

The time our patients spend with us in our inpatient or outpatient treatment programs at GMH is only the beginning of a lifelong journey of recovery. It’s important to stay connected with recovery and others who have shared similar experiences in life. You’ll have access to the  GMH Alumni Association through Shoutout™. Here, you can attend events and join others who have been in treatment at RCA.
